Traceability and changing rules
How do I retain food traceability when building mixed pallets?
Keep the link between each product lot, the delivery and its customer when consolidating or splitting pallets. A pallet identifier is useful only if records connect it to the actual contents. Mixed pallets need enough detail to identify affected batches during a withdrawal or recall.
What to check next
- Record changed contents during picking or repalletising.
- Retain batch and customer references rather than only a pallet count.
