Traceability and changing rules
What should a seed-potato merchant check when repalletising bags?
Preserve official bag and container labels, seals and lot identity. Under the England and Wales Seed Potato Classification Scheme, packages need official labels and the marketing grade must match the buyer’s requirement. A pallet shipping label does not replace these seed certification controls.
What to check next
- Check the actual labels, not only a grower-register entry.
- Consult the scheme operator before opening, resealing or relabelling packages.
