Can a pallet repair business rely on a general waste exemption?
In England, T12 specifically lists wooden pallets under waste code 15 01 03 for sorting, repairing or refurbishing, with limits of 100 tonnes at any one time and two years’ storage. You must meet all exemption conditions and register it. This is not permission for unrestricted treatment, mixed waste or disposal.
What to check next
- Check the current waste-code table and activity limits.
- Confirm registration before operating under an exemption.
