When is a used pallet a product and when is it waste?
Being second-hand does not alone make a pallet waste. The holder’s action or intention to discard, its condition and the proposed use matter. Calling a discarded load “for reuse” does not remove waste controls. Record the basis for the decision before arranging collection.
What to check next
- Establish whether the holder discarded the pallets.
- Identify any preparation needed before their intended use.
