Can furniture waste containing POPs share a normal recycling pallet?
Palletising does not change the required disposal route. In England, waste upholstered domestic seating containing POPs must be managed to prevent contaminating other waste and sent to an authorised destruction route. A non-hazardous waste code does not mean POPs restrictions disappear.
What to check next
- Identify seating covered by the guidance.
- Agree segregation, documentation and destination before collection.
