Does a normal plastic pallet count as oil-spill containment?
No. Load support and secondary containment are different functions. Where business oil-storage rules apply, containment must meet the relevant capacity and design requirements for the container arrangement. A pallet without an appropriate liquid-retaining system cannot be assumed to fulfil that requirement.
What to check next
- Check the oil, container capacity and jurisdiction.
- Specify both load support and required containment.
