Can I export palletised waste batteries as ordinary second-hand goods?
Waste-battery exports are subject to waste-shipment controls as well as relevant dangerous-goods transport rules. The destination, waste classification and intended treatment affect the route. Using export-treated wooden pallets does not authorise the waste shipment. Establish whether battery-exporter approval is also required for your activity.
What to check next
- Confirm waste status and destination controls.
- Use the competent environmental regulator’s export guidance.
