Choosing and identifying pallets
What information should I give a pallet supplier?
Describe the goods and their contact points, total load, footprint and overhang, lifting equipment, rack support, journey and receiving-site requirements. A size and a single kilogram figure do not describe how the pallet will be used. For ordinary distribution, used wooden pallets can be considered when condition and construction meet that brief.
What to check next
- Provide a drawing or photo of an awkward load and the support arrangement.
- Agree the exact pallet specification and permissible handling before ordering.
