Can a customer insist on a particular EPAL quality class?
Yes, the parties can agree a specific class. EPAL distinguishes its binding exchangeability conditions from its optional quality classification, which applies by mutual agreement. Record the agreed grade and acceptance criteria; a supplier’s own A/B/C descriptions should not be assumed identical to EPAL’s.
What to check next
- Put the agreed class and rejection criteria in the order.
- Confirm who records pallet exchange balances.
